Sequential Blow Off ValveCompressor by-pass valves can play a vital role in any successful turbo system because they not only improve performance of your vehicle but they increase the longevity of the turbocharger as well. The function of a compressor by-pass valve is to relieve compressor surge (pressurized air normally forced backwards through the turbo upon deceleration) without reducing compressor speed. Repeated stress form compressor surge can damage the turbocharger and cause turbo failure. HKS offers three types of compressor by-pass valves: Standard, Race and the Sequential Blow Off valve. The standard by-pass valve is adequate for the air flow associated with engines producing upwards of 300hp. Racing by-pass valves function much like standard valves but have an additional pressurized port to help force the valve open under vacuum conditions. The racing by-pass valves can also be used as safety pop-off valves. The Sequential By-Pass Valve is a pull open type relief valve unlike all other blow off valves which are push type. The SBV is actuated by pressure alterations only, ensuring quick valve response and complete closure during idle. With standard blow off valves for high boost (high horsepower) applications, big valves are needed, which unfortunately react slowly and require high activation pressure to open. Smaller, fast reacting valves, do not permit the air flow required. With the Sequential Blow Off Valve, a small primary valve is utilized for ultra quick activation along with a secondary valve for additional relief capacity.

The Super Sequential Blow Off Valve is a pull type relief valve, unlike other blow off valves which are push type. The SSBV is actuated by pressure alterations only, ensuring quick valve response and complete closure during idle. Standard blow-off valves must utilize large valves in order to accommodate high boost (high horsepower) applications. However these large valves react slowly and require high activation pressure to open. Smaller, fast reacting valves, do not permit the air flow required for high horsepower. The Super Sequential Blow Off Valve incorporates both for maximum performance. It is engineered utilizing a small primary valve for ultra quick activation along with a secondary valve for additional relief capacity. The SSBV is made of billet aluminum and emits a unique aggressive sound. (Absolutely the best sounding blow off valve on the market!)
