Aerodynamics

Central idea for the development of aerodynamics for the 8 series coupe was a functional design of the modifications, which round off the complete appearance of the standard chassis. The covering of the wide-base tires and the improvement of the aerodynamic values are the functional features of the front spoiler and the rear trim panel, which shows a wing-like profile. In order to reduce lift in the rear section, a tail fin has been constructed, which naturally also has an attractive visual effect.

At the bottom, the fender flares are equipped with air inlets, which provide the rear wheel brakes with cooling air. The shape of the AC Schnitzer sports mirror is similar to the shape of proven sports mirrors, which fit the BMW coupe especially well, as it shows essential designer characteristics of classic coupes. The individual aerodynamic parts are manufactured in a labor-intensive production process in Kevlar-strengthened GFK.
